Designer in Your Garden

Heading up our ‘Designer in Your Garden’ service is Graham A. Pavey, designer, writer, photographer and lecturer.

He trained as a designer at the English Gardening School at the Chelsea Physic garden and was the first person ever to be awarded a full diploma by the school.

In 1994 he set up the Gardeners’ Academy at Coton Manor in Northamptonshire, where he was principal lecturer and worked alongside many of the leading names in horticulture and design.

Graham has written a number of books including his latest, published in 1999, ‘Creative Gardening For Busy People’. He has also written for several national magazines.

In addition to making his own personal visits Graham will co-ordinate with other experts to ensure an expanding service.

Designer in Your Garden

GardenZone is pleased to offer you an expert in your own garden. Whether you are developing all or part of your garden the touch of an expert garden designer can make all the difference.

For a fee of Ł175 you can have a first class designer in your own garden. All GardenZone designers are experienced and qualified and guaranteed to give you the very best service.

Our designers will be able to help with all aspects of improving or developing a garden.

If you wish they will discuss the options available for reducing levels of maintenance and how best to use your money and the pitfalls you may experience when implementing your plans.

Or you may be concerned with what plants are right for your garden. Since our designers are also skilled in the use of plants they will be able to give you advice on planting to ensure a successful garden and discuss what can be done to improve the conditions.

Or you may be looking for design inspiration. If so you won’t be disappointed.

A one-to-one with one of our designers is an experience that even today’s technological wizardry cannot replicate. A real person in a real garden. Listening to you.

A 'Designer in Your Garden' also makes a perfect and unusual gift.

Each visit is expected to last approximately 2 hours.

In Search of the Exotic

We are delighted to have on board Bruce Jordan, our Big Plants gardening expert, to offer you a very different kind of plant finder service.

Bruce scours the world in search of exotic plants that will flourish in our less than exotic climate and his ever-growing nursery is full of glorious hardy and half-hardy palms, bamboos, grasses and tree ferns. Most plants come in a variety of sizes from small pots to vast 30 feet bamboos. On occasions there are even special varieties of lemon and orange trees displaying fruit ready for the picking - a 70 year old gnarled Italian Olive Tree was sourced recently for a client in the south of England!

If you are looking for a plant that is large, established, ‘jungle’ or architectural in style then why not let us help you find it. In large pots such plants can transform in an instant a terrace or deck area. Others look great in a conservatory.

Only plants that are happy in your region will be recommended unless of course you are happy to pamper and nuture your prized possession in which case Bruce will provide helpful advice on such delicate species.
